I Don't Know..

I am thinking about changing the concept of my movie. What I do know is I am keeping the original story and pretty much EVERYTHING in it but not make it a Resident Evil movie. I might just make it a zombie movie. I don't want to get busted with copyright fine.

Let me know what you think!

Teaser!

The teaser trailer should be up by Sunday, IF not then definitely on monday. I have some kinks to work out on it and get it to look awesome. Sound effects are just killing me right now because I can't find any good ones I want to use. I used to have a whole slew of sound effects straight from the Resident Evil games but I can't seem to find them anymore.

Well anyways, tune in on Sunday!

Also, I have a Facebook group set up so you can check it out. It's called "Resident Evil: Inception"

I appreciate all the support I have gotten already, a big thank you to those who keep me motivated. Especialy my girlfriend Steph, who is always there to keep me going.

New Plan

So!

Since filming was a disaster on the 10th, I have decided not to take a break.. but postpone filming and work my butt off with the planning. I went in blind. Yes, I had a script and all the make up and an amazing effects artist, but it wasn't enough.

I need to start making story boards, work on the finer details of the script, confirm things with the cast, confirm the extras.

That is probably the biggest stress I face when working on this movie. Getting all the actors together is such a pain. That's why I retired What Were We Thinking. It was just way to hard getting everyone together and I could never film because everyone lived in different places. At least with this movie everyone is pretty much local and it's somewhat easy to get people together, it's just hard making sure they get here because things do come up.

I am planning to have all the in door filming done by the end of January and outdoor stuff will be hopefully done by March. I am aiming for an April, May release of the movie.

I think some people don't know how serious I am about this.

Screen Caps

I am happy some of the shots so I decided to share the first ever screen captures of the movie.

Enjoy!

First Day Of FIlming!

So we filmed on Saturday. It was stressful as hell, but also quite fun. I need to be a bit more harder on the actors. I feel like a jerk for thinking like that, but if i want to get my images up on that screen I'm going to have to push them more to get what I want out of them. I was too nice I guess? It's not that bad seeing as they told me to be more harsh on them. Saturday was a learning experience. I know now what I need to do for next time around. I need to get more organized and plan more ahead.

Plot

Based off the smash hit video game series, Resident Evil, Inception takes place between Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2. The T-Virus (The virus which can re-animate dead beings and bring them back as flesh eating zombies) was thought to be destroyed in the Mansion explosion. That did not stop it. Nothing could. The virus started spreading into the city. The walking dead were slowly taking over Raccoon City letting nothing get in their way. This story follows a group of friends with no idea what is happening to their city, but they are about to get caught in the middle of it all.

Worries....

So I got some scheduling done. It's hard! Trying to a lot yourself a reasonable amount of time to film certain shots and then when you actually film and everything is not on schedule and you start stressing out, AHHH!!

I'm sure everything will be alright. I just did this because it's gonna be hard to film all the stuff I want to do within the amount of time I have. I can't film too late into the day because it gets dark earlier, and I can't film outside when it's dark, it would look crap on film when it's light one second and dark in the next cut. I need a nice flow.

That's another thing. I am REALLY hoping the weather is wrong for that day. I want it cold, I want it grey, I want it wet on the ground, I want leaves scattered everywhere. I can only hope. If not, then I'm sure there are some filters on the camera to make it all look dark and gloomy.

I guess I should work on a poster and perhaps a Teaser for the movie? BAH! I should release a plot to the movie! Or should I wait until we are done filming before I start to REALLY promote and get the word out?

Logo

So I went with the name Inception, because of it's meaning. The Beginning, the start of something. Since my movie is based on the outbreak in Raccoon City, I thought it was a very appropriate title. Also rather catchy!

Here is the logo I designed, any feedback is appreciated!

Less Then A Week!

We start filming Saturday, November 10th. I'm nervous as hell. SO many things could go wrong, but in another sense...I think things will go smoothly since I have it all planned down to the single shot. I need to start working harder on it, I have so much scheduling to do.

This Thursday, Steph and I are going down to Toronto to pick up our make up supplies and then on Friday, we are gonna do some quick last minute screen tests. I put Steph in charge of the Make Up Dept. because I know she will do an awesome job. She won't settle for less then perfect and I know my Zombies will look how I have them imagined in my weird little head.

It's such an awesome feeling when you are so set on something and so hyped up, and the person you love so much is right there backing you up and helping you. No other feeling comes close.

This week I will try and get some Location pictures up and a cast list.

Until then!

Hey what's up!

I'm Erik Dudley!

I'm 19 years old and from Brampton, Ontario...in Canada, eh?? I work full time and have the most amazing girlfriend in the world. Even with two of my goals accomplished, I still have one more. I want to be a director. I want to make movies. I want my visions seen by all, whether my own or based on existing concepts. Fan films I guess you can say? I have started and hope to go somewhere some day. Everyone has to start somewhere and I am starting now.

I plan to use this blog to update people who are interested in my work on projects and their status.
I am currently in the process of planning a Resident Evil fan film. It will take place a bit after the events of the first Video Game. It's going to be a short film, maybe around 40 minutes. We are getting supplies, costumes and props this weekend and doing some screen tests. I will keep you posted on what's going on! Expect some pictures soon.

Hope you guys will like my stuff!
